How to recover from a long winter!
Oh, wow, it?s all going so fast. March weather has been ? well let?s just say we are ready for a change. And to celebrate Easter is something that should always make us feel that we are on the winning side of things. Lent will be over soon and we are celebrating the Resurrection of our God and King. Oh, wow, it?s all going so fast. March weather has been ? well let?s just say we are ready for a change. And to celebrate Easter is something that should always make us feel that we are on the winning side of things. Lent will be over soon and we are celebrating the Resurrection of our God and King. But here comes April with two of my favorite things: May flowers and mushrooms. So believe it or not, as excited as I am to be able to wear shorts again, I am even more excited about an amazing God.
You see, Easter Is the Big One. It?s the biggest thing ever since the creation of the world. OK, so let?s think about this. You and I get to worship a God who not only loves us but experienced what it was like to be us. He came to earth to do, see, smell, feel and be just like you and I. But the biggest difference is that unlike us He arose from the dead and then ascended into heaven, so if you can somehow set aside all the miracles that He did. This Easter thing is not ignorable. As a human who died, He rose from the dead! This is simply unlike anything else imaginable. It?s just the best gift ever, from the one and only God who has truly done everything possible (and impossible) to prove his love to you.
If you?re like me and you?re itching for spring, on April 20 come to the one place where spring will be in full bloom. Where you?ll be greeted with a warm smile and accepted by hearts that care. Your local church is ready to meet you. Whether it?s your first time ever or you?ve been every week for the last 35 years. It?s springtime in our local churches and the S-U-N of God is already warming things up for you. Let this Easter be a time that melts the winter in your heart and mine. And let God?s love flow in like a beautiful spring day and fill the voids in our lives. Psalm 34:8 says, "Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
Happy Easter from a Friend of God.
