The Southeast Iowa Sierra Club and Pathfinders RC&D have received a grant award of $2,000 from Humanities Iowa, a state- based affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, in support of a project called the Forum for the Future of Fairfield.
The Forum will be held at the Sondheim Theater in Fairfield on Friday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public and features presentations, a panel discussion and Q&A by communities around Iowa taking the lead on building sustainability models that are moving them towards energy self-sufficiency, economic stability, climate resiliency, and as a result attracting new resources and people. In person attendance requires masks, or join by zoom by registering on the SE Iowa Sierra Club's Facebook page.
