ICON Gallery’s next show will feature modern Japanese prints from the 20th century to the present, with more than 90 original woodblocks, etchings, silkscreens, stencils, and other print media. Over 50 leading artists will be represented, beginning with the sōsaku-hanga or “creative prints” movement of the mid-1900s and continuing to the present day. The exhibition starts Aug. 2 and runs through Oct. 22.
The works being shown come from local private collections. If you have Japanese prints from this era that you would like to have them considered for inclusion in the show, contact Chas Hall, firstname.lastname@example.org.
ICON Gallery is located at 58 N. Main St. in Fairfield.
