IHCC jazz band concert May 6
OTTUMWA ? The annual spring concert of the Indian Hills Community College Jazz Band will be at 7:30 p.m. May 6 in St. John Auditorium.
The concert is free and open to the public.

Under the direction of Professor David Sharp, the group will perform a variety of traditional and contemporary big-band jazz pieces including ?Low Blow? by Jay Chattaway, Count Basie?s ?Lester Leaps In,? ?One Step Ahead? by Mike Kamuf, Lee Morgan?s ?Sidewinder,? ?My Funny Valentine? arranged by Sammy Nestico and the rarely performed 1937 ?Blues of Avalon? by the Texas band, Boots and His Buddies.
Area members of the jazz band include:
Fairfield: Brittany Anderson;
Hedrick: Jenna Strom; and
Milton: Jay Stookesberry.
