OTTUMWA ? The 2016 Indian Hills Community College Cabaret will be presented at 1 p.m. on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 7, in the Hills Dinner, located by the library on the IHCC Ottumwa campus.
The Cabaret is an annual collaboration between the performing arts and culinary arts departments at the college and will feature fun music, live theatre and a feast fit for the Super Bowl.
Patrons will be treated to a high-energy performance of pop music, Broadway standards and jazz performed by the Indian Hills Jazz Band, Chamber Singers, Concert Choir, Tono Bella and three student-directed theatre productions. Directors for the Cabaret include Janene Sheldon, Jennifer Boyenga, Ray Slavens and David Sharp.
A light buffet meal prepared by Indian Hills culinary arts faculty members Chef Gordon Rader, Chef Mark Fisher and Chef Adam Darland will get attendees ready for the Super Bowl with three flavors of chicken wings, pasta salad and cheesecake.
Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for children under age 10. The first 70 Indian Hills students will be admitted free with an IHCC student ID. All proceeds from the event will go toward scholarships for students in music, theatre and culinary arts.
