OTTUMWA ? Performance and technical awards for the 2011-12 academic year have been awarded by the Indian Hills Community College Theatre Department.
The award winner for Best Performance in Shakespeare?s ?Romeo and Juliet? went to Joe Roark (Ottumwa) for his performance of Romeo. Best Supporting Actor awards in ?Romeo and Juliet? went to Chris Simmons (Pella) for his performance as Friar Lawrence and Mason Ferguson (Wayland) for his role as Mercutio.
Judged the Best Performance in ?Titanic Aftermath? by Michael Wherli went to Rachel Cobler (Ottumwa) for her performance of Third Class Passenger. The two awards for Best Supporting Actor in ?Titanic Aftermath? went to Hannah Altheide (Pulaski) and Lauren Reilly (Marion) for their performances as multiple historical characters throughout the production.
The award winners for Best Technical Support went to Kitt Linville (Chariton) and Mitch Anderson (Fairfield).

PELLA ? The following students were accepted to a Central College Abroad study abroad program for the spring 2012 semester:
Batavia native Kristen Fariss and Farmington native Kristopher Muntz, students at Central College, were accepted to Central College Abroad?s program in Bangor, Wales.
Central College Abroad is a university-based study abroad provider for undergraduate students from colleges and universities throughout the United States. Central College Abroad offers semester, yearlong and summer study abroad programs at nine sites worldwide and operates out of Central College.
