OTTUMWA – McKensi Ensminger, an Indian Hills Community College student from Mt. Pleasant, has been awarded an IHCC Tom Arnold Scholarship for the 2019-20 academic year.
Ensminger's winning essay, one of two chosen, was picked by Arnold, who chooses a different theme each year. This year's theme was 'Trust … what does it mean to you?”
Arnold graduated from Indian Hills in 1981 and has gone on to gain fame as a Hollywood actor. He established the full scholarships, which include tuition, books, fees, and room and board, in 1991.
An Indian Hills faculty committee screens the initial entries before Arnold reads the essays that make the cut and selects the scholarship winners.
