OTTUMWA ? Veterans who would like to attend Indian Hills Community College, but who do not qualify for other VA educational benefits programs and are not enrolled in a federal job training program could qualify for a new program.
The Veterans Retraining Assistance Program offers 12 months of retraining assistance to veterans who qualify. To be eligible, a veteran must be enrolled in a college program that leads to an associate degree, non-college degree or certification and train for a high-demand occupation.
The new program will be available beginning Sunday.
For more information on the VRAP, veterans can contact Teresa McNitt, IHCC veterans affairs coordinator, at 641-683-5328 or visit www.benefits.va.gov/vow/education.htm.
