OTTUMWA ? Two keynote speakers are scheduled for the 10th Annual Diversity Conference March 28 on the Indian Hills Community College Ottumwa campus.
The morning keynote speaker will be Joe Torrillo, a retired lieutenant in the New York City Fire Department, who was buried alive twice on 9/11. As a survivor, he travels the country with a quest to make the nation the ?Re-United States of America,? resurrecting patriotism and inspiring audiences to embrace change.
The afternoon keynote speaker will be Miss Iowa 2013, Nicole Kelly, who was born without her left forearm. Kelly has a passion to help individuals understand their unique ability, rather than disability, and will be discussing her belief that anything is possible through hard work and dedication.
Three 60-minute breakout sessions on a variety of issues will be offered throughout the day, featuring topics that influence local, state and national communities.
The conference fee is $40 and there is no cost to attend for students with a student ID card. Lunch is included with all registrations.
