Individuals compete in talent show
The Bill Riley Talent Contest took place Wednesday at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.
In the junior division, Faith Maganda of Burlington was awarded first place with her tap dance solo, Jayde Mumme of Mount Pleasant won second place with a jazz and acrobatic solo dance and Julia Britz of Brighton was awarded third place with a vocal solo.

In the junior division, Faith Maganda of Burlington was awarded first place with her tap dance solo, Jayde Mumme of Mount Pleasant won second place with a jazz and acrobatic solo dance and Julia Britz of Brighton was awarded third place with a vocal solo.
Other area participants in the junior division included the following individuals: Baylee Bowman of Fairfield, vocal solo; Jenna Crile of Fairfield, jazz dance; Natalie Brader of Fairfield, baton solo; Blair Bowman of Fairfield, vocal solo; Brynna and Brittan Bowman of Fairfield, dance duet; Kelly Myers of Packwood, dance solo; and Katlin Clemmons of Fairfield, fiddle solo.
In the senior division, Jennifer Schwenker of Wapello won first place with her baton solo, Max Sloat of Fairfield took second place with a vocal and guitar solo and the vocal ?Gyz Remix? trio of Brandon Hyde, Jonathan Edgeton and Zachary Edlin was awarded third place.
Other area participants in the senior division included the following individuals: Bethany Larson of Fairfield for her vocal solo; Nykole Thacker of Fairfield with her vocal solo and Dollie Penigar of Fairfield, who performed a vocal solo.
