Anyone participating in the annual plant exchange Saturday and May 12 at the Fairfield Farmers? Market should bring one to seven plants to Howard Park and sign in to get a number between 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.
The actual exchange will start at 1 p.m. sharp. Anyone who hasn?t returned when the exchange starts may miss the opportunity to choose plants as they go fast, said organizer Colleen T. Bell.
As people sign in, they will be assigned a number. They will pick their new plants one at a time in that order.
?We will cycle through the number of people until the plants are all spoken for,? said Bell. ?If they bring one plant, they will take one home; if they bring seven plants, they will be able to take seven home until all the plants have homes.?
Most people bring perennial flowers and herbs they divide directly from their garden. Others bring special plants, trees or bushes. Plants should be labeled with the type of plant and donors? name in case the recipient has questions.
For information, call Bell at 472-7010 or visit her at the Earth Wisdom booth at the farmers? markert.
