Iowa J, Wayland, of the National T.T.T. Society met Tuesday evening, Oct. 27, 2015, at 6:30 p.m., at the Wayland Community Center. Appetizers and drinks were shared with Halloween-themed decorations. Those attending were dressed in costume and a fun time was enjoyed prior to the business meeting.
President Lori Messer called the meeting to order. Recording Secretary Georgia Fort took roll call and read minutes of the September meeting. A thank you note from the Kenny Rich family was read and an ad shared from Cost Cutters ? donating $1 per service to T.T.T. during the month of October.
Diann Miller gave the treasurer?s report. It was also noted that the books had been audited and the year-end financial report had been sent to the national office. Copies of the annual financial report where distributed to all present.
The treasurer will obtain the gift cards to be given to the current campers at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Members were reminded of Tip Night, at the Mt. Pleasant Pizza Ranch, on Nov. 18, and those who can work signed the sheet. Workers should report at about 4:30 p.m., working from 5 to 8 p.m.
Convention delegates and other attendees gave brief convention reports, noting dues increases will be effective as of Nov. 1, 2015, as well as an increase in initiation fees. These raises are necessary to cover rising costs.
It was also noted that the 2017 National T.T.T. Convention will be held in Phoenix, Ariz.
A motion to amend Standing Rule #13 was unanimously approved as per by-laws.
Fundraising ideas were also discussed. The general consensus of the group was to hold an ornament or Christmas decoration exchange at the December meeting.
The nominating committee gave their report and in due process, the following officers were elected for the 2015-2016 year: president, Georgia Fort; vice-president, Lori Messer; treasurer, Diann Miller; recording secretary/historian, Joni Huisenga; and corresponding secretary, Katy Samo. Linda Groff was elected to finish out Diann Miller?s term on the nominating committee and Cindy Seberg was elected to the three-year term on the nominating committee.
Seberg conducted the installation of officers and thanked the new board on behalf of the chapter. President Fort offered closing thoughts before the meeting adjourned.
