Iowa Wesleyan art show, reception to feature alumnus

MOUNT PLEASANT ? The paintings of Iowa artist Jane Elgin are on display at the Iowa Wesleyan College Art Gallery in Mount Pleasant. An artist?s reception will be 5-7 p.m. today.

Elgin, of Des Moines, received a bachelor of arts degree from Iowa Wesleyan College and a master?s degree from Drake University. Her work explores archetypal and mythological themes and facets of the human form and is included in private collections and galleries throughout the Midwest.

Elgin?s work will be on display through October.

The Iowa Wesleyan College Art Gallery is located at the main entrance to the P.E.O. Administration Building on North Main Street.

The reception and show are free and open to the public.
