Iowa Wesleyan Choir to host spring concert Tuesday

The Iowa Wesleyan University Choir and Primae Voces will present their final home concert of the year, “Love is Enough,” on Tuesday, May 10 at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant.

The choirs will present classical selections by Tallis, Dowland, and a variety of modern music by American composers, including “Song of Triumph” by Dale Grotenhuis and “Set Me As A Seal” by René Clausen, along with traditional spirituals.

“Our home concert represents the culmination of a year-long learning process,” said IW Director of Choral Activities Blair Buffington. “Our ensembles continue to grow and mature, and we are looking forward to sharing this post-tour concert with the Mount Pleasant Community.”

The IW Choir and Primae Voces, the vocal chamber ensemble, will tour together May 2-10, with stops in Iowa, Wisconsin, Chicago, and Missouri.

The concert is free and open to the public. All donations received at the concert will directly fund the IW Choir’s activities.
