Iowa Wesleyan men win first home game

The Iowa Wesleyan Men?s soccer team snapped a six-game losing streak on Thursday evening, defeating Grace University, 2-1.
After going down, 1-0, in the first half, the Tigers tied the game before the break and scored the only goal of the second half to win their first home game of the season.

The Iowa Wesleyan Men?s soccer team snapped a six-game losing streak on Thursday evening, defeating Grace University, 2-1.
After going down, 1-0, in the first half, the Tigers tied the game before the break and scored the only goal of the second half to win their first home game of the season.
Grace took the lead 24:09 on an unassisted goal by Jose Valadez, but IWU?s Ronaldo Olaya tied the game at 1-1 at the 42:41 mark off an assist from Tristen Dickerson.
Then, with just under 10 minutes remaining in the game, Creighten Chambers knocked in the game-winner off a Jonathan Amador corner kick, to end the scoring at 2-1.
IWU outshot Grace, 11-6 in the first half and 14-2 in the second half. Chambers had four shots for the Tigers to lead the way. Olaya, Juan Carlos Franco and Adamor each had three.
Edgar Vallejo was in goal for the Tigers and made one save on the day to earn the victory.
The Tigers moved to 2-8-1 overall this season with the loss. They?ll be back in conference play at home against Webster University on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 3 p.m.
