Fairfield Lions Club members taste-test a pot of soup that will be made for their 11th annual fund-raising soup supper and auction Friday at the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center. From left are Edd Felgar, auctioneer; Doug Alexander, food organizer; Jane Bush, food chairwoman; and Don Wallace, donor committee. The chili, chicken noodle soup, ham sandwiches and pies will be served for a free-will offering from 5-7:30 p.m., and the auction will start at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the African Violet Foundation, a group that provides Christmas presents to Fairfield and Pekin high school students.
