Parents: Darren and Jennifer Lehman
Cumulative GPA & Class Rank: 4.0, Rank No. 3
Activities: Besides my main classes, I am a member of NHS. In addition to this, I have received three academic awards for my performance during freshman, sophomore, and junior year.
Other clubs: Outside of school, I’m involved with Faith Lutheran Church.
Future plans: After graduating from High School and seeing summer’s passing, I plan to attend Iowa State University in Ames, where I will study accounting and possibly pre-law. After I’ve gotten my bachelor’s degree at minimum, I hope to find a career in the accounting field.
How will your high school experiences help you in coming years? Throughout the course of my high school career, I’ve sown and developed a few different skills to keep up with the ever-increasing demands of not only my academics, but of life in general. I have become a creature of increasing perseverance, as well as one who would seek to shape my future by my conviction alone.
Fondest memory of high school? Though it’s a rather expansive one, my fondest memory of high school is the entirety of my junior year, or something close to its totality. I feel that I grew a lot as a person during it, and I enjoyed it for the most part, even though it was challenging at times.
Which teachers have had the biggest impact on you and why? I would say that the teacher who has had the biggest impact on me is Ms. Kohorst. Her methods of teaching are the most effective and agreeable I have ever borne witness to. Furthermore, I just generally rock with her vibe. She made me care about literature again after I hadn’t for some time.
Who is your role model and how did they influence you? Truth be told, I’ve never really been one for having role models. However, much of what I base my conduct off of is my notion of what my sister would do in whatever situation I may be in. She’s not only knowledgeable, but really just seems to have life figured out in general. Now, whenever I’m confronted by some vexation or another, I try to reckon out what she would do and go from there.
What is special about your high school? The school fosters a spirit of community between students and staff that makes it feel like they’re part of our own fold. Learning feels like a collaborative effort, as opposed to just being taught.
If you go back to when you were a freshman, what advice would you give yourself? If I were to go back to when I was a freshman, I would tell myself not to stress and fret so much in the former half of high school, as there will be more than time enough to stress about academics and life with the passage of each year. For now, simply enjoy each moment in its simplicity.
