ISU awards scholarships to local students
AMES ? The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University recently recognized its scholarship recipients for this academic year.
Local award winners include:
Gabrielle Hathaway, a sophomore from Fairfield, was awarded the Albert C. and Ruth B. Timm Scholarship.
Dana Diers, a freshman from Brighton, was awarded the Del and Mary Kay Bowden Beginning Agriculture Professional Scholarship.

Dana Diers, a freshman from Brighton, was awarded the Del and Mary Kay Bowden Beginning Agriculture Professional Scholarship.
Tarrah Syfert, a freshman from Keosauqua. was awarded the Edward L. Tubbs Memorial Scholarship.
Katie Yule, a senior from Packwood, was awarded the Fred W. Koester Memorial Scholarship.
Grant Carter, a senior from Stockport, was awarded the Martin Family Endowment,.
The college and its departments award more than 1,000 scholarships totaling more than $1.5 million in scholarships.
Along with scholarship support for students, the college continued its record enrollment numbers and placement rate. The latest survey of graduates from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences found that 98.2 percent were employed, furthering their education or serving in the military.
In October the college hosted the largest agricultural career fair in the nation with more than 1,600 students and 175 employers attending.
