IW men win USCAA consolation game

UNIONTOWN, Pa. ? The Iowa Wesleyan men?s basketball team closed out their season with a win Thursday morning.
The Tigers took on Florida National in their USCAA consolation game and won in a high-scoring shootout, 94-87.
The Tigers led, 43-41, at halftime and outscored Florida National, 51-46, in the second half to end trip to Uniontown with a seven-point victory.

UNIONTOWN, Pa. ? The Iowa Wesleyan men?s basketball team closed out their season with a win Thursday morning.
The Tigers took on Florida National in their USCAA consolation game and won in a high-scoring shootout, 94-87.
The Tigers led, 43-41, at halftime and outscored Florida National, 51-46, in the second half to end trip to Uniontown with a seven-point victory.
Steven Soukup had a huge game, shooting 10-13 from the field, 3-5 from the three-point line and 14-17 from the charity stripe for a game-leading 37 points. He also led the team with six rebounds.
Brock Butler hit three shots from down town and went 7-10 from the free throw line to finish with 24 points. He also co-led the team with three steals.
Mitch Drey scored 11 points and led the team with two blocks. Michael Soukup had six points and five assists. Elijah Johnson finished with four points and Jake Neubauer had two.
The USCAA tournament is nearly finished. Concordia-Alabama, which knocked IW out of championship contention in the quarterfinals, will take on Illinois Tech in the USCAA title game on Saturday, March 4.
The Tigers finished their season, 18-9, and went 13-5 in SLIAC play. IW finished tied for second in the regular season standings with Westminster College.
