Jazz Service, lunch set at First Presbyterian Church
First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield is planning a Jazz Service at 10 a.m. Sunday, with a luncheon following the service.

Jazz Service, lunch set at First Presbyterian Church
First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield is planning a Jazz Service at 10 a.m. Sunday, with a luncheon following the service.
The Rev. Joe Phipps, pastor of the church, will combine scripture and an inspirational message with sacred and secular music performed by a jazz ensemble.
The jazz combo performing the special music for the service includes: LeAnne Edgeton, Jim Edgeton, Ken Norton, Gerry Runyon, Fred Hucke, and Rodger Gillaspie.
The soup and pie luncheon is hosted by the Presbyterian Women. The monies raised go to support church missions.
Everyone is invited to attend the service and brunch.
Gamma Circle meeting set
Gamma Circle of First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday at SunnyBrook Assisted Living.
Shirley McCracken will be hostess and have the devotions.
Sandy Gillaspie will be co-hostess.
A group program is planned.
Douds church schedules God?s Portion supper, sale
DOUDS-LEANDO ? Christ United Methodist Church in Douds-Leando will be holding its 65th Annual God?s Portion Supper and Sale Nov. 5 in its fellowship hall.
The free will offering supper starts at 5 p.m., with a full home cooked meal, including turkey, ham, dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, green beans, carrots and a variety of homemade pies, cakes, and salads.
An auction, conducted by auctioneers Ron Sprouse, Mike Goehring, and Scott Watson, starts at 6:30 p.m. Many items including baked goods, donated items from area businesses, handcrafted and Christmas items, as well as many miscellaneous items and collectibles will be sold.
The public is invited.
Packwood church plans Harvest Home supper
PACKWOOD ? Packwood Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will have its Harvest Home supper Nov. 5 in the church?s Van Voorst Fellowship Hall.
The menu will include roast beef, ham balls, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, squash, creamed turnips, rolls, salads, pies and beverages.
A free will offering will be collected for the meal.
Serving will be from 5-7 p.m.
Carry-out meals will be available for pickup after 4 p.m. Call 472-1348 to place a carry-out order.

Batavia church serving annual soup supper
BATAVIA ? Batavia Methodist Church will have its annual soup supper from 4:30-7 p.m. Nov. 5.
Chili, vegetable beef soup, salad, pie and cake will be served.
A free-will offering will be collected.
