Jefferson County Conservation to host Toddler Time, meteor shower viewing

Jefferson County Conservation will host a couple of programs outdoors this week.
On Wednesday, the Jefferson County Park Nature Center will host 'Toddler Time: Who Lives Here?”, a program for kids to explore the different habitats in the park and discover the animals who call it home. The program is from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday. Naturalist Brittney Tiller will do a short introduction before leading the group on a hike. The program is intended for children ages 2-4, and the child must be accompanied by an adult.
'Toddler Time happens rain or shine, so be sure to dress for the weather!” stated a news release from the nature center.
On Friday, the conservation office will host a viewing of the Geminids Meteor Shower at Zillman's Hickory Hills, located at 2437 Glasgow Road, Fairfield. The event is from 8-10 p.m.
The Geminids Meteor Shower is known as the 'king of meteor showers.” Naturalist Brittney Tiller will have a telescope on hand to see a few night sky objects up close as well as looking for meteors with the naked eye. Dress for the weather and bring a comfortable chair or blanket. Participants should feel free to come and go during this open house style program however the shower is more active the later in the evening.
Come to Zillman's Hickory Hills Friday night to watch the meteor shower.
Toddler Time is from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Jefferson County Park.
