Join other teachers from around the state for a free Summer Teacher Workshop hosted by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and Jefferson County Farm Bureau, in partnership with the Iowa Ag Literacy Foundation on August 1 and 2.
On the first day of the workshop, teachers will tour a farm to learn about agronomy and cover crops and then another farm to learn about cattle and pigs. A free lunch will be provided at Lake Darling, near Brighton, and then the day’s tour will continue at the Blueberry Bottom Farm near Brighton and conclude at Premier 1 Supplies. Bus transportation is provided.
On the second day of the workshop, teachers will spend the day at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, listening to guest speakers and receiving lessons to use in their classrooms. A free taco lunch is provided. The day will conclude with a tour of AgriPlastics in Fairfield.
This workshop is free to all teachers. Licensure Renewal Credits and Graduate Credit are available to purchase. To register for this workshop, go to: https://go.iastate.edu/CG7DKE
