Jefferson County Farm Bureau received the County Award of Excellence during Iowa Farm Bureau Federation’s 107th annual meeting held Dec. 9-10 in Des Moines.
This designation recognizes county Farm Bureaus that actively engaged and achieved success in the priority areas of membership, policy, leadership development and community outreach. In 2025, Jefferson County Farm Bureau donated $500 to The Lord’s Cupboard as part of the annual Grocery Grab promotion in partnership with Hy-Vee. Volunteers also set up at the Fairfield Farmers Market to educate the community on pigs and their byproducts. Additionally, Jefferson County Farm Bureau sponsors the Agriculture Award at the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet. The award recognizes an individual from Jefferson County who has made significant contributions to the agricultural industry or the local economy.
“Our organization’s strength lies in the passion and dedication of our county members,” said Brent Johnson, Iowa Farm Bureau president. “Their unwavering advocacy and leadership are not only foundational to Iowa Farm Bureau’s mission and Iowa agriculture but also helps rural communities thrive and grow.”
