Jefferson County Farm Bureau hosts ‘Cram the Cab Food Drive’

Jefferson County Farm Bureau celebrated National Ag Week, March 21-25, by hosting the Cram the Cab Food Drive event.

The local event wrapped up on Friday, March 25 at Hy-Vee in Fairfield where over 200 pounds of food was collected along with nearly $50 in monetary donations, all in support of The Lord’s Cupboard of Jefferson County. Jefferson County Farm Bureau also matched the donations collected with a check for $300.

“This event highlights what agriculture is about – providing for our neighbors and bringing the community together,” said Jason Steele, Jefferson County Farm Bureau president.

Steele added that Farm Bureau wished to thank Hy-Vee in Fairfield for hosting, KMCD radio for the live spotlights, Sinclair Tractor for the use of their John Deere tractor, and “of course everyone who donated items.”
