JEFFERSON COUNTY FARM BUREAU WOMEN
The Jefferson County Farm Bureau Women met for a noon luncheon Feb. 5 at Pizza Ranch.
Shirley Stanley, president, opened the meeting with valentine readings.
Twelve members answered roll call with ?Buildings, Landmarks, Land and Transportation? of India.
Minutes were read and approved, with the addition of Christine Schiedel as vice secretary.

JEFFERSON COUNTY FARM BUREAU WOMEN
The Jefferson County Farm Bureau Women met for a noon luncheon Feb. 5 at Pizza Ranch.

Twelve members answered roll call with ?Buildings, Landmarks, Land and Transportation? of India.
Minutes were read and approved, with the addition of Christine Schiedel as vice secretary.
The group is still waiting on decisions from the Farm Bureau Board regarding the proposed breakfast sponsored by Farm Bureau and Hy-Vee. Stanley will call members if she needs assistance before the next meeting.
More information will be announced about Ag in the Classroom for the Jefferson County Fair.
Stanley presented the program: A video of a Christmas puppet program done by the United Methodist Church in Altoona. Stanley?s daughter, Reesa, is involved with the puppet program, which reaches 40-60 children, as well as some adults. The puppets are mostly handmade by the participants and then put together with a message and music, presented twice annually.
The next meeting of the Jefferson County Farm Bureau Women will be March 5 at Pizza Ranch, with Sharon Schafer as hostess.

KAABA SHRINERS
Kaaba Shriners, whose headquarters is in Davenport, announces the election and installation of its officers for 2013.
Potentte Roger Kadel, Davenport, was elected president. Chief Rabban Donald Courter, Davenport, was elected first vice president. Assistant Rabban Vernon Rode, Columbus Junction, was elected second vice president. High Priest and Prophet Thomas Hodges, Milan, Ill., was elected third vice president. Oriental Guide Walter Hill, Birmingham, was elected fourth vice president. Recorder David Klien, Davenport, was elected secretary. Ronald Loetz, Davenport, was elected treasurer.
The Shriners are known for their contributions to children in need of medical assistance, for physical and skeletal problems, within its network of 22 hospitals. Their assistance is provided without charge to the patient or parents, including transportation to the hospital. Specialties treated include; cleft lip and palate, spinal cord injuries, maximum facial reconstruction, burns, and orthopedic skeletal corrections.
