JEFFERSON COUNTY RELAY FOR LIFE

The Jefferson County Relay for Life will hold its fall kick-off meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Jefferson County Health Center?s conference room.

All committee members, team captains and anyone interested in becoming either of these are encouraged to attend.

Those attending are asked to bring an idea for a theme for the 2012 relay and five recipes for the 2012 cookbook. Those who are cancer survivors should indicate that on their recipes.

Anyone not able to attend the meeting, but who would like more information on becoming involved or who are going to be a returning team captain or committee member, can contact Kortney Heald by calling 319-695-3820.

Refreshments and door prizes are planned at the fall kick-off meeting.

CLINTON LODGE No. 15

The Clinton Lodge No. 15 will conduct a first-degree initiation meeting at 7 p.m. Oct. 20 at the lodge.

RETIRED SCHOOL PERSONNEL

Jefferson County Retired School Personnel met for their first meeting of the school year for a noon luncheon Sept. 28.

In attendance were 19 members and two guests. The meeting was called to order by Don Kremer, club president. Minutes were ready by Cathy Horn, and the treasurer?s report was given by Dwain Dooley. Both report were given approval.

Becky Peters gave the health report. Catherine Kann reported a book has been given to the  Fairfield Public Library as a memorial for Phyllis Pumphry.

The next meeting will be Oct. 26 at the McElhinny House for a noon luncheon.

All of the Above, a support group for substance abuse and addiction has started meeting at 7 p.m. each Monday at Living Stones Fellowship Church.
