The Jefferson County Republicans announce they will award a $500 scholarship this spring to a graduating senior who also is a United States citizen and Jefferson County resident.
The recipient must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and plan to further his or her education at a two- or four-year school in the U.S.

The Jefferson County Republicans announce they will award a $500 scholarship this spring to a graduating senior who also is a United States citizen and Jefferson County resident.
The recipient must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and plan to further his or her education at a two- or four-year school in the U.S.
The scholarship will be paid directly to the recipient?s college or university to meet tuition or other educational expenses, and it must be used within the following school year. The award recipient will be selected based on the information in the application and submission of a short essay.
Applications have been sent to Fairfield High School, Maharishi School, Pekin High School and Cardinal High School. Interested students may pick up an application from a school guidance counselor or contact Ed Kelenyi at 472-3677.
The deadline for submitting applications is May 9.
