JEFFERSON COUNTY IOWA SCHOOL PERSONNEL
Jefferson County Unit of Iowa School Personnel met for a luncheon meeting Wednesday at SunnyBrook Assisted Living.
Special guests were Tom and Opal Handlen, District 6 coordinators, and Ken Dailey, who updated members on the Blue Zones Project.
Dailey explained the goal of the project is to improve the health and longevity in thecommunity using nine principles based on the lifestyles of communities around the world with the oldest and healthiest people. At this time, Fairfield is still just a candidate to be a Blue Zones community and has several things yet to accomplish before the final designation. Residents still need to sign up at www.bluezonesproject.net to show support. Even people who signed up before need to sign up again to prove continued community support for the Blue Zones Project.
The next meeting of the Jefferson County School Personnel will be a luncheon meeting Dec. 4 at SunnyBrook Assisted Living.
