Jesse Brower, 84, of Lockridge, died on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at the Jefferson County Hospital, in Fairfield.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 28, from noon to 6 p.m., at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m., on Sunday afternoon. Jesse Brower, 84, of Lockridge, died on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at the Jefferson County Hospital, in Fairfield.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 28, from noon to 6 p.m., at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m., on Sunday afternoon. A visitation will be held at 12:30 p.m., with funeral service following at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at the Bible Holiness Church, in Cherokee, Kan., with Rev. Winfield Poe officiating. Internment will be in the Cherokee Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Holiness Pilgrim Mission, P. O. Box 658, Shoals, IN 47581.
Brower was born on June 15, 1931, in New Florence, Mo., the son of Harry and Ruth (McManamy) Brower. He attended high school at Independence Bible School in Independence, Kan. He married Anna Ruth Uttley on May 24, 1952. In the 1980?s, he attended Union Bible College, Westfield, Ind.
He worked as a pastor and missionary at various locations across the United States, Mexico, the Fiji Islands and Haiti. He spent his last 16 years doing deputation work for Holiness Pilgrim Mission.
Brower is survived by his six daughters, Esther (Calvin) Whitaker, of Anderson, Ind.; Elaine (Tim) Millard, of Lockridge; Ellen (James) Krueger, of Morrison, Mo.; Betty Shreffler, of Owasso, Oka.; Becky Hunt, of Springfield, Mo.; and Margaret (Gary) Skipper, of Troy, Ohio; 22 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; seven brothers, Harry Jr.; Paul; Bobby; John; Joel; Philip; Sam; and one sister, Gertrude.
