John A. Rees reunion held

The 93rd annual John A. Rees Reunion was held Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Marr Park, near Ainsworth. A noon potluck meal was enjoyed by 49 members and one guest.

Dick and Betty Winga celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 19. Edwin and Rita Luers will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary July 5.

Oldest known family member is Helen (Jenkins) Smith who will be 101 in August.

Oldest member present was John Harold Jones, 94. He was the youngest member at the first family reunion in 1921. Youngest member present this year was Belle Elizabeth Luers, 7 months. Henry and Mary Clark of Kansas City, MO traveled the farthest and Myron Rees, Ainsworth, traveled the least distance.

Family T-Shirts were still available for anyone wanting one.

The next reunion will be held the third Saturday in June 2016 at Marr Park.

Drink Committee for next year will be Betty Miller, Chair, Mary Clark and Chris Leichty.

Officers elected for next year are President Sarah Mayo, Vice-President John Evans, and Secretary-Treasurer Sharon Rees.
