John L. Sprott

John L. Sprott, 76, of Mount Pleasant, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at Park Place Care Center in Mount Pleasant.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Michael Scudder officiating. According to Mr. Sprott?s wishes, his body has been donated to University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. Burial will be at a later date in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in rural Mount Pleasant.

Memorials may be directed to Sunshine Academy or a charity of the donor?s choice.

Mr. Sprott was born Feb. 27, 1935, in Lockridge, the son of Charles ?Pete? and Selma Brockschmidt Sprott. He married Laurene Lee July 26, 1959, at Presbyterian Church in Mount Pleasant.

Survivors include his wife and one sister, Carol Sprott of Ottumwa.
