For the 28th year, Jonas Magram will be hosting his annual Children’s Holiday Benefit Concert at The Lab (408 W. Lowe Ave., Fairfield), on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. This year’s show will feature Jonas and the Seventh Ray Band, performing Jonas’ folk-rock originals, and Steve and Michaela McLain.
In addition to Jonas, on vocals and acoustic guitar, Seventh Ray Band performers include Bonnie Van Buskirk (vocals), John Schirmer (electric guitar), John Huff (bass guitar), and Phil Marks (drums), all professionals.
Their music will draw from three albums, Dancing in the Light, Freedom Train, and Straight from My Heart, all celebrating “higher love and life on the path to Awakened Living.” Songs range from tender ballads – “Jake’s Song” and “Pledged to Our Love” – to rocking favorites – “Freedom Train” and “I Am.”
Super-talented and local favorites Steve McLain (co-founder of the Jefferson County Green Band) and Michaela McLain will open the show with their beautiful harmonies and joyful Americana music.
Tickets are $15 at the door.
The concert is the capstone of Jonas’ annual fundraiser to benefit underserved children both locally and internationally. Since its inception, the benefit has raised approximately $325,000, all going to charity. This year’s funds will go to three nonprofits, two local: SIEDA Community Action and the Crisis Center and Women’s Shelter, and one international: Save the Children.
Those interested in making a tax-deductible donation or who want more information about the concert can contact Jonas at childrensholdiaybenefit@gmail.com.
