Josh Gilbert is a Singer-Songwriter & Collective Band with a Southern Rock/Pop, Blues & Americana sound and positive, family-friendly message. Hailing originally from Chattanooga, TN, Josh has been touring and performing nationally and internationally for over 12 years, across the U.S. and Canada - with over 1,000 performances.
The Josh Gilbert Band members have included a network of friends, family & working musicians through the years - who have stuck with him through thick and thin. Josh's music style can be compared to Adult Contemporary Acts such as NeedToBreathe, Lanco & Train and even hinting at classic rock influences such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Bros, and even U2. His 4 past Solo releases - all charted on Billboard Adult CCM Radio; with label Soncured Records, and and received Grammy ballot and Dove nominations (vocal performance category).
'Sweet Little Place”, Josh's newest single, is about staying together as a family, even when times get tough - a real story about taking risks and challenges in life as a family unit - and no matter where life takes you, we've always got a sweet little place together that we call ‘home'.
'We've been through a lot”, says Josh; 'my wife and I -- living out of a van, tornadoes, poverty and loss -- all the things that a lot of people go through. The only difference is, we have clung to God and to each other to make it through, all the while choosing the less conventional route in life. We are two artists trying to make a living, and by God's grace, we are content and have all we need! I wrote the song, ‘Sweet Little Place' about our story; about how me and my wife aren't perfect, but we love and support each other and choose to follow God together as a family. We've been on many journeys, including a recent move from Tennessee to Florida for the past couple years, and now back in Chattanooga again currently, on a music-making adventure. During that time, my oldest daughter, Indigo sat down with me one night, and sang a melody while I played a few chords -- this inspired the bridge and tag for 'Sweet Little Place”, and out of that came the rest of the song! I hope it is an encouragement to anyone out there with a family, to put down roots in the things that really matter!”
Everyone is invited to come hear their story and ‘Celebrate-Christ-Through-The-COVID' Thursday night.
