Arrests
Washington County Jail personnel reported a subject in the lobby wanted on a Washington County warrant, Friday morning at Lexington Boulevard in Washington. Jessica Rose Popham, 34, of Iowa City, was arrested on a Washington County warrant for two charges of tampering with witness or juror. Bond was $4,000 cash only.
Traffic accident
An officer cited Keith James Charlier, of Ainsworth, for failure to maintain control, in reference to a one-vehicle traffic accident that occurred in the early-morning hours Saturday. The officer advised that the vehicle could then be released upon payment of the tow bill. The vehicle was cleared from the system.
Traffic stop serious
An officer reported being on a vehicle stop at Highway 1 and South G Avenue in Kalona, early Saturday morning. An additional officer also responded. Charges are pending per DCI Lab results on Dallas Michael Leffler, 20, of Keota, for possession of controlled substances.
An officer reported being on a vehicle stop at North Marion Avenue and West Ninth Street in Washington, early Saturday morning. The officer cited two juveniles for possession of alcohol under the legal age. The parents were contacted and picked up the juveniles.
Disabled vehicles
A deputy reported being out with a disabled vehicle, Friday night at 220th Street and Palm Avenue in Washington. The officer advised that the vehicle had overheated, but the occupants would be on their way.

A deputy reported being out with a disabled vehicle, early Saturday morning at Highway 218 and 135th Street in Riverside. The driver was tired and was going to move and find a better place to rest for the night.
Animal complaint
A caller Friday morning at South Fourth Avenue in Washington reported a large dog in her yard eating her garbage. The dog was a husky with a green collar and no tags, and was turned over to the dog catcher.

A caller Friday afternoon at 220th Street in Ainsworth requested a welfare check on horses. An officer responded. The horses had hay and, according to the horse owner, they were fed twice a day.
Assault
A caller Friday night at 13th Street in Wellman reported that he received a report of possible abuse. An officer responded. The report was unfounded.
Disorderly conduct
A caller Friday morning at West Madison Street in Washington reported vandalism to the pool during the overnight hours. Twenty-five chairs were thrown into the pool, lifeguard stands were thrown into the pool, water was turned on the slides, and chairs were on the slides. A report will be filed.
A caller Friday night at East Adams Street and South Ninth Avenue in Washington reported people yelling and fighting in the street. Two officers responded. Juveniles were fighting over who got to ride in the front seat of the car.
A caller Friday night at E Avenue in Kalona reported an intoxicated male cursing and yelling at people at the baseball diamond. Two officers responded. Deputies were unable to locate the subject but received information that the subject made statements about inflicting self-harm. Deputies attempted to locate the subject. Johnson County was also advised of the situation.

A caller Friday night at Second Street in Wellman reported a loud party to the west of the trailer court. An officer was responding and was diverted to a more urgent call and was unable to locate the loud party.
Fraud
A caller Friday morning at East River Street in Riverside reported a customer in the bank who was a victim of a Social Security fraud. An officer responded. The victim was not out any money. The bank was assisting with monitoring her account, and they were contacting the Federal Trade Commission and the Social Security Administration.
Vandalism
A caller Friday morning at A Avenue in Kalona reported vandalism to the windshield on the vehicle that was parked in front of the residence. An officer spoke with all parties involved. Documentation was made.
Welfare check
A caller Friday night at Wayland Road in Washington requested a welfare check on two small children. An officer responded. No one appeared to be home. There was no answer at the door.
