JV Panthers finish season with win

The Mt. Pleasant junior varsity football team closed its season out with a dismantling of rival Washington at home on Monday night by the score of 33-0. The Panthers used four rushing touchdowns to run over the Demons and forced four turnovers, one of which went for a score.
Dalton Bass had a big day offensively for the Panthers. Bass opened up the scoring with a three-yard touchdown run and then punched in a one-yard touchdown later in the game.
Isaac Kuster ran for 86-yards on seven rushing attempts, but the biggest was a 62 yard touchdown run that put the Panthers in a double digit lead. Zac Beason, who went 3-7 for 61 yards and an interception, got it done with his legs on a ten-yard touchdown run.
Jordan Magnani had a nice game, running the ball nine times and racking up 32 yards. Colin Mulford led the team in receiving with two catches for 36 yards.
Mt. Pleasant had two interceptions in the game. Mulford had one, and Jake Lowe had the other. Lowe?s went for the biggest play of the game, as he ran it 91-yards back for a defensive touchdown.
Other defensive leaders were Bass, who had seven tackles and an assist, Lowe and Tre Cosgrove, who each had four tackles and four assists, and Colby Potts, who had two tackles, seven assists and two fumble recoveries.
The JV Panthers finished the season on a three-game winning streak, defeating Clear Creek-Amana (32-11) and Fairfield (34-6) in the previous two weeks before dropping the Demons. Their final record for the season was 6-1.
