Kalona MOPS fundraising meal planned
Feb. 2, 2022 2:09 pm
The Kalona Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) Group will hold a fundraising meal on Sunday, Feb. 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kalona Mennonite Church at 902 6th St. in Kalona.
The meal, which is dine in or carry out, includes a pork tenderloin, cheesy potatoes, strawberry lettuce salad, green beans, dinner roll, and better than anything cake fluff. The meal is a free will donation.
Last year, the group served 300 people at this event. Funds generated by this event go toward its community outreach projects, membership scholarships and to support the content of its ministry.
Background on MOPS
The Denver-based MOPS International is a nonprofit that creates mothering communities to help "Better Moms Make A Better World." Moms attend MOPS groups to experience authentic friendship, receive mothering support, and to grow personally and spiritually. Since 1973, MOPS International has served millions of mothers of preschoolers in thousands of local MOPS groups across the U.S. and in almost 40 countries internationally.
MOPS serves moms from all walks of life and exists to encourage, equip, and develop every mother to realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader.
“MOPS is the best in the world at creating authentic communities of growth that invite women into a relationship with Jesus Christ,” the organization stated in a news release.
