University of Iowa College of Pharmacy students, from left, Robert Nichols, Jennifer Ross, Ashley Beckman, Dan Widman, Ben Urick, Washington police officer Ron See, and Jenette Hunger, pharmacy student at Creighton University, accepted unused medications Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of the United Presbyterian Church.
The event was part of the Drug Enforcement Agency?s National Take Back Day. The group accepted controlled substances and unused prescription medications for the purpose of getting controlled substances out of medicine cabinets. The medicines will be disposed of in a manner in which they will not get into the water supply or landfill.
