Keokuk County Historical Society plans open house
The Sunday afternoon of Sept. 14, has been selected as the date for the Historical Society's annual open house in the building at East and Elm streets in Sigourney. The doors will be open from 1 to 4 p.m.

The Sunday afternoon of Sept. 14, has been selected as the date for the Historical Society's annual open house in the building at East and Elm streets in Sigourney. The doors will be open from 1 to 4 p.m.
The ladies who volunteer have quilted a beautiful queen-size quilt. The chances for this are now on sale and the drawing will be held at 3:30 that afternoon. Sharon Jacobs donated the top. There will also be a display of quilts in the sanctuary of the church.
Many new items, both large and small, have been donated and added to the displays around the building.
The Stone House will be open from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Officers for the society are President Pat Grover, Vice President George House, Secretary Nancy Weber, and Treasurer June Rice. Board members are Jean Cavin, John Jacobs, Sharon Jacobs, Lynn Klein, Richard Schmidt, Maryetta Snakenberg and Floyd Strupp. Harold Woods is an honorary board member.
New hours for the society building starting Sept. 1, are Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
