Keota Aquatic Center named after Jacqueline J. Singmaster Murphy
The Keota Aquatic Center has announced that it has a new name, and that is the Jacqueline J Singmaster Murphy Aquatic Center.
According to a news release from the Keota Pool & Aquatic Foundation, “Jacqueline has been a major contributor to the Keota Pool Project, and we are honored to let her family’s legacy live on through the naming of the Aquatic Center.”
The foundation also announced the naming of the Splash Pad as the Mick and Jayne Lillig Splash Pad.
“River Products Company of Iowa City has been a major contributor from the beginning of this project and have made these donations in their memory,” the foundation said. “We are privileged to be able to name this splash pad in memory of the late Mick and Jayne Lillig.”
RIVER PRODUCTS COMPANY MATCHES DONATION
In other news about the pool, the Keota Pool & Aquatic Foundation has announced that they were challenged last fall to fund raise $150,000 with a matching fund donation from the River Products Company of Iowa City. The pool group has met that challenge and were presented a check in May for the funds.
“Once again River Products has shown their strong support for the Keota Community in helping to fund local projects,” stated a news release from the foundation. “River Products was one of our very first contributors for the pool project back in 2019 and have continued their support. The Keota Pool & Aquatic Foundation greatly appreciates the support of River Products for this project.”
