Kim Endecott, regional director for southeast Iowa
In her new role, Endecott – who has served as team director for EveryStep Hospice in Mt. Pleasant for the past six years – will oversee the non-profit health services organization's hospice, home care, grief & loss and palliative care programs in southeast, central and southern Iowa.
Specifically, Endecott will focus on the growth and development of our services in the Mt. Pleasant area, as well as EveryStep's hospice and home care services in Centerville and Knoxville and home care in Des Moines.
The regional director role, of which there will be three in the EveryStep organization, was created as a way to strengthen, streamline and create synergies among the non-profits programs and services.
'Our commitment is to provide the highest level of service to our patients, clients and their families,” Leann Thrapp, vice president of clinical services, says. 'This new alignment will allow EveryStep to continue to build strong relationships with our communities, healthcare partners and ensure those we serve live their best lives.”
Endecott joined EveryStep nearly 15 years ago as a registered nurse, providing care for hospice patients and their families.
'It's a privilege and honor to work in hospice care, alongside an amazing team that believes in the care and support we are providing to the communities we serve,” Endecott said. 'As regional director in southeast Iowa, I look forward to continuing this commitment to care and uplifting the EveryStep organization and mission.”
Mike Breese, team director EveryStep Hospice in Mt. Pleasant
Effective May 19, Mike Breese will step into the team director role for the EveryStep Hospice team serving southeast Iowa.
In his new role, Breese – who has served as a hospice nurse on the EveryStep team for six years – will lead the Mt. Pleasant team and oversee their efforts to serve patents and families in Des Moines, Keokuk, Jefferson, Henry, Lee, Louisa, Van Buren and Washington counties.
'Being a part of the EveryStep team in Mt. Pleasant has been an overwhelmingly rewarding experience,” Breese says. 'I'm excited to continue my work at the team director level.”
During his time as a registered nurse with EveryStep Hospice, Breese has shown a commitment to patient care, exhibiting compassion, quality of care and his own sense of humor to the team. In addition to his role as a hospice nurse, Breese has also served in the National Guard, leading a group of medics for nearly six years.
'With his natural leadership skills, determination, and overall passion for hospice care, Mike is going to excel as our new hospice team director in Mt Pleasant,” Endecott, regional director for EveryStep, says.
