Krogmeier will continue to farm county ground

Andrew Krogmeier will farm approximately 27 acres of county-owned ground north of East Lake Park for the next three years.

Krogmeier has farmed the ground the past three years and submitted the lone bid to continue the practice.

Krogmeier?s bid of $180 per acre was opened by Henry County supervisors at the board?s regular meeting.

The monthly report of Sarah Berndt, county coordinator of disability services/general assistance director, was the only other agenda item.

Berndt submitted the fiscal 2018 contract with the Iowa Department of Health (DOH) for the supervisors to sign. A representative of the DOH already has signed it.

Included in the contract is the DOH?s substance abuse grant of just over $21,000 for the county. She said the grant represents about one-fourth of what the county will spend on substance abuse during the fiscal year.

Supervisors next meet in regular session Tuesday, Oct. 3, at 9 a.m. in the Henry County Courthouse.
