WASHINGTON, IOWA ? Registrations are rolling in for the Iowa SIDS Foundation?s 17th Annual Walk for the Future.
As the nonprofit?s largest fundraiser, the organization will host seven walks Aug. 27.
The Washington walk starts at 9:30 a.m. at Sunset Park.
Proceeds from the Walk for the Future provide safe sleep education to Iowa parents, healthcare and childcare providers, as well as bereavement support to Iowans impacted by Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and other unexplained sleep-related infant deaths.
?We host a walk every year in Washington to honor our son and to spread awareness and support to other SIDS families who are not aware of the resources the Iowa SIDS Foundation offers,? said Tony Lipski whose son, Jacob, died from SIDS in 2005.
Following the family-friendly walk, participants are invited to enjoy refreshments as well as a raffle, kids? activities, door prizes, and a silent auction.
Walkers are encouraged to pre-register with their T-shirt sizes at a discounted rate prior to Sunday.
Registrations can be found online at www.iowasids.org.
