Last chance private pesticide continuing instruction course

Henry County will offer a 'Last Chance” Private Pesticide Applicator Continuing Instruction Course (CIC) for private pesticide applicators on Monday, April 15, at the Henry County Extension Office at 127 N. Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. This program, produced by the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP), will fulfill 2018 recertification requirements for private pesticide applicators.

The course begins at 9 a.m. and runs for approximately 2 1/2 hours. To obtain additional information about the CIC, contact Traci Vantiger at the ISU Extension and Outreach office in Henry County by phoning 319-385-8126.

Topics covered include recognition of sensitive areas, including groundwater and other non-target sites and organisms, and best management practices to protect these areas, pesticide labels, pests, pest management, and pesticides.
