Layman-Hicks engaged

Dennis and Michele Layman of Ainsworth have announced the engagement of their daughter Brittany Layman to Austin Hicks, son of Marty and Sandy Hicks, all from Charles City, Iowa.

Austin and Brittany are the proud parents of 5-year-old Kaiser Hicks, who is in kindergarten at Washington Elementary School in Charles City. Kaiser enjoys going fishing with his dad and wants to be a volunteer firefighter like him.

Austin, who graduated from Charles City High in 2010, is a mechanic at Croell redi mix Concrete. Brittany is a graduate of Highland High School, class of 2010. She is a CNA at Home Health Care in Charles City, which she enjoys very much. Her No. 1 passion is taking care of and spending time with her son Kaiser and future husband Austin.

The two will be married on Oct. 16, 2021, at the Floyd County Fairgrounds in Charles City.
