Leaf pickup to begin

The City of Washington Maintenance and Construction Dept. will begin picking up leaves on Oct. 19, beginning in the N/W quadrant of the city, moving in a counter-clockwise direction. The leaf vac program will continue until Nov. 25, 2015. Residents may place leaf piles in the terrace area between the sidewalk and the street. Please do not place leaves in the street as this may create drainage and traffic hazards. The leaves are hauled to the Waste Water Treatment Plant which is open Monday through Friday 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. and will be open on Saturday mornings beginning Oct. 24 through Nov. 21 from 7 a.m. - 10 a.m .for residents? availability to haul leaves.
