Letter to the editor: It’s time to overturn Roe v Wade

Dear editor,
Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, marks the 47th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision known as Roe v Wade, which along with its companion case of Doe v Bolton, made abortion legal throughout all nine months of pregnancy. Planned Parenthood, the nation's leading abortion provider, kills the equivalent of two preschool classrooms every hour! Let that sink in! There are an average of 17 students in a preschool class. This is according to Live Action.
Abortion affects all of us. It wipes out generations. Even if you don't find it morally reprehensible, when you consider anywhere from 45 to 57 MILLION babies, depending on your sources, have been aborted, our nation is missing the gifts and talents of people that would be up to 47 years old, and raising children of their own. I'm sure you have heard of the worker shortage in Iowa. We reap what we sow.
Our country is seeing what happens when there is no respect for human life. When basic human life is devalued, we see the occurrence of increased physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. We see a rise in the number of suicides and a disconnect with the concerns of others. Have you noticed an increase in mass shootings since 1973? For if we don't respect the innocent child in the womb, we will not respect life outside the womb.
Pray for an end to abortion. Let women know that there is a choice they can make that will give life to their child and prevent them from suffering lifelong regret. In our upcoming elections, there is a clear difference where the candidates stand on the life issue. If you do nothing else, simply voting for the anti-abortion candidates will save countless lives.
Supreme courts have made mistakes in the past that were later corrected. It is past time for the error they made in deciding Roe v Wade to be corrected.
