Libertyville Elementary School recognizes caring students
Students who exemplify caring behavior were recognized at Libertyville Elementary School?s third-quarter assembly March 31.
Libertyville has been focusing on the character trait of caring as part of its character education program. Classroom teachers nominated students and shared some of the reasons they are excellent examples of caring behavior.

Students who exemplify caring behavior were recognized at Libertyville Elementary School?s third-quarter assembly March 31.
Libertyville has been focusing on the character trait of caring as part of its character education program. Classroom teachers nominated students and shared some of the reasons they are excellent examples of caring behavior.
Students chosen were Brooke Miller, Bradley Woodburn, Ethan Waugh, Ben Johnston, Shane Morrissey and Nathan Mathis.
Kindergarten teacher Brandi Strickler said Brooke is ?caring toward her classmates. She is helpful to all students and is a very good friend because she listens to her friends, and is mindful of their feelings when she makes choices.?
First-grade teacher Sheryl Greiner nominated Bradley because he demonstrates a ?caring attitude toward his classmates. He shows kindness to others in and outside of the classroom. He often expresses concern for others in a positive, caring way.?
Second-grade teacher Kari Mahler said Ethan is ?very caring toward his peers in the classroom and on the playground. He also is very caring toward staff and teachers at Libertyville Elementary.?
Third-grade teacher Patricia Johnston selected Ben because he is ?caring toward his classmates and others. He is always watching out for others and shows concern for others.?
Fourth-grade teacher Abby Rau nominated Shane because he?s ?caring toward his classmates and to all students at Libertyville Elementary. He is very empathetic and puts others before himself.?
Resource teacher Anne Lyle chose Nathan because he is ?caring and concerned for other adults and peers he works with. He asks how others are doing and has shown honesty.?
