Library: Read books with ‘hot’ in title for July

Summer Reading has been a great pleasure this year. I feel the need to make up for last summer and so I have added picnics to the plan! June with Joanne Fluke ended with a lovely dessert picnic, with each of us bringing something delicious made from a recipe included in our title of choice.
I will continue my Summer Reading programming outside with another book discussion and picnic. Because July is “HOT HOT HOT” we are reading any book with “hot” in the title. For my title, I have listened to the audio book called “Hotbox” by Matt Lee and Ted Lee. This was a very interesting, non-fiction story about behind the scenes of catering in New York.
Also this summer, the library now has a Readers’ Advisory Group for adult materials! This group reads the books they choose and writes a review to share with other patrons. These reviews will be shared so that other patrons can better choose their next read.
One of the fun things about this group is that each adviser has chosen a unique pen name. So, be on the lookout for Voyager, The Philomath, The BOC Reviews, Prairie Rose, Steak Ureus, Nanny’s Picks, and The Reader. Their bookmarks and reviews will be inside the books they’ve reviewed so feel free to take a look!
