Fairfield Public Library will show a free film on Friday, Aug. 9.
This 2019 American superhero film is based on a comic book character.
Everyone has a superhero inside; it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. Courtesy of an ancient wizard, a streetwise 14-year-old foster kid simply has to shout out one word--then he turns into a grown-up superhero.
The teenager is still a kid at heart inside a ripped, godlike-body. So he revels in the adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them. Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies tests? The new superhero sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he'll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by an embittered outcast.
The action/adventure/comedy film is rated PG-13. The runtime is two hours and 15 minutes.
Doors open at 7 p.m., and movie starts at 7:30 p.m.
Donations for organic popcorn help the library renew its movie license.
The movie license does not allow the library to announce the title of the movies it is showing, but for detailed information, go the Fairfield Public Library's calendar on the website at http://www2.youseemore.com/fairfield.
