Lindy Chrisinger, age 89 of Winfield, died Monday December 10, 2018 at Sunrise Terrace Care Center. The son of Durbin and Signe (Lindeen) Chrisinger, he was born September 6, 1929 at Mt. Pleasant. On June 5, 1952 he married Lillian Jones at Columbus Junction.

He was a graduate of the Winfield High School and Iowa State University. He started a fertilizer and chemical business in Winfield and was a lifelong farmer. He served in the US Air Force in the late 1940's and later served as a liaison officer for the Air Force Academy. He was a Colonel in the Air Force Reserves.

He had been active in the Masons, Boy Scouts, Henry County Historical Society and the Winfield Historical Society. He was an active member of the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife Lil of Winfield; one daughter Ann Grossheim of Iowa City; Jim of Ankeny and John of Winfield; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother John and one sister Evelyn.

A graveside service will be Friday December 14, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at the Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery. A memorial service will follow the graveside service at 11:00 a.m. at the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rev. Mark Youngquist officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield. A general memorial has been established for local benefits.
